LITTLE TOWN
Johnny greets me as I walk down the stairs
And he smiles as he asks me for some change
A cigarette, we joke about the mayor
And we’re glad that we know each other’s names
And I love this Little Town in every little way, yeah
And it never let’s me down because it happens every day
A woman’s yelling as I make it to the corner
And she’s spitting at some yuppies walking by bye
But I’m a townie now and safe from old money
And I egg her on to make another try
There’s a cruiser and blue lights, she exits from the stage
But they’re laughing at the sight because it happens every day
Well, I don’t see why we should change
The good things, they never ever seem to stay the same
It happens every day
There’s a sharp difference on a cold night
From the man on the bench to the family by their firelight
Some of them they were once friends
Little Town turn around, you changing once again, oh, oh, oh
It happens every day
It happens every day, yeah
It happens every day, every day
Well, I don’t see why we should change
The good things, they never ever seem to stay the same
It happens every day (It’s happening today)

PREMIUM
There is a little old lady, here comes her man
They’re sitting at home now, selling me a plan
One dollar pays for my Premium
One dollar pays for my Premium
And maybe when I die
I can get my money up in the sky
Build the house I always wanted on a cloud
Build it on a cloud, Build it on a cloud, Build it on a cloud
Don’t change the channel cuz I like that girl
Hey mister, don’t kill her, there’s nothing else on
I hope she paid for her Premium
Hope she paid for her Premium
And maybe when I die
I can get my money up in the sky
Build the house I always wanted on a cloud
Build it on a cloud, Build it on a cloud, Build it on a cloud
I’ve been watching for hours and I finally see
It’s the other way around, they’re watching me
Turn up the sound
Jor-El, my son, by the time you hear this, I will have been dead many centuries. Please remember, son, that I love you and that where you are going is a planet where people’s powers are much lesser than yours. Please be kind to them. Don’t be a prick like you probably would have been on this planet, okay?

NAME AGAIN
Going out on a Saturday night
When you can be a star or get in some jerk fight
You throw your dime in the wishing well
You go to Heaven for free
Pay by the drink in this Hell if only for tonight
I want everything to stop, And Honey
Please tell me your Name Again cuz I forgot
We could be bangin’ on a tribal drum
Or dancin’ to the rhythm in a jungle sun but
We are natives of the city tonight
And we’re together alone
Feelin’ alright if only for tonight
I want everything to stop
And Honey, please tell me your Name Again cuz I forgot, I forgot. I forgot, I forgot
Well Honey, Please tell me your Name Again cuz I forgot, I forgot. I forgot, I forgot
Going out on a Saturday night
When you can be a star or get in some jerk fight
You throw your dime in the wishing well
You go to Heaven for free
Pay by the drink in this Hell if only for tonight
I want everything to stop, yeah it’s gotta stop
And Honey, please tell me your Name Again cuz I forgot, I forgot. I forgot, I forgot
Well Honey, Please tell me your Name Again cuz I forgot, I forgot. I forgot, I forgot
Well Honey, Please tell me your Name Again, Name Again
Tell me your Name Again, Name Again

THE DAY ROOM
Why don’t you just kill me now
You will in the end
You tell me you’re my only chance
Behave and we’ll be friends
In the Day Room
Finger paints in leg restraints
Thirty-minute walk in the hall
Single-file with no complaints
Just say nothing at all
Don’t ask so smart, don’t act so tough
Cuz it’s safer just to be crazy enough
Don’t respond if they call your name
Cuz the guards get nervous if you act too sane
In The Day Room
Day Room
Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water
In The Day Room
There behind the Day Room door
Wolf lies waiting for the slaughter
In The Day Room
Day Room

WACKY WRITER
He’s a writer, you know and you can tell right when you shake his hand
That’s he’s getting away from the retrace somehow
He’s getting out of his head somehow
He’s like the Liberty Bell, he’s got a little imperfection
And a hundred and nineteen rejections on file
No kiss and tell for him, he’s gonna write himself a classic
But then, hey, what’s to tell, ya know his life is so monastic
But his soul gets twisted around the trunk of every hopeless dying tree
He’ll throw his hand up in the air, singing praises to the sky
And then he’ll scribble something down
He’s working overtime pumping irony
He’s all alone in this world but better off than you might be thinking
He ain’t smoking, he ain’t drinking, not now
Just getting out of his head somehow
He took the road, he took the road, he took the road, he took the road
He took the road less traveled by
He’s like the Frosty man, he’s a ‘no regrets’ kinda guy
No kiss and tell for him, that would be most unseemly
Oh, maybe just one kiss, oh maybe, maybe just one dream
But his soul gets twisted around the trunk of every hopeless dying tree
He’ll throw his hand up in the air, singing praises to the sky
And then he’ll scribble something down
He’s working overtime pumping irony
He’s working overtime pumping irony

TREATMENT ROOM
Don’t struggle, stay still, make sure he swallows that pill
Get your head in the vice, don’t make me ask you twice
In an effort to revive you, we really must deprive you
Of a little teeny sliver of your brain
Welcome to the Treatment Room
Walls covered with excretement room
We’ll make sure you’re totally behaved
You can scream if you want to, ain’t nobody gonna hear you
Might as well try to be a friend of mine and I’ll get it over in a minute’s time
We’ll prod you in the belly and cover you with jelly
Shock you till you look like Caesar’s Ghost
Welcome to the Treatment Room
Just relax, your time’s up soon
Only remember what you fear the most
Please don’ hurt me, please don’t hurt me, this is the only me I have
You burned my head, you burned my head, Please stop! You burned my head
We’ll prod you in the belly and cover you with jelly
Shock you till you look like Caesar’s Ghost
Welcome to the Treatment Room
Just relax, your time’s up soon
Only remember what you fear the most
In the Treatment Room, the piece of meatment Room

PARTY IN MY MIND
There’s a Party in my mind every night
I am having a good time at the Party in my mind
And all my friends are drinkin’ free and all the girls in love with me
The Party in My Mind
I am walking like the blind in the day
Though I try to close my eyes, these fools get in my way
No matter how they hassle me, they can’t afford the entrance fee
The Party in My Mind every night
And you can have your party too
Just bang your head against the bars and
Blow like hell on your kazoo
There are all these geishas dancin’ on my face
Money’s fallin’ from the sky, I’m the leader of our race
As I walk by the people wave, my every step a new dance craze
The party in my mind every night
And you can have your party too. Go ahead!
Just bang your head against the bars and
Blow like hell on your kazoo
There’s a party in my mind
There’s a party in my mind
There’s a party in my mind each and every night

HARRY
You know, Harry only very rarely didn’t tell me the truth
But you could always get an answer out of him when he’s juiced
That was almost all the time then he finally lost his mind
If you were him it’s the same thing that you would do
Harry hung down in the cellar with the boys in the day
Trading pills that they got on prescription from the V.A.
By the stories they would tell, it seemed stateside was the harder hell
Harry died long before they ever dug him away
I thought Harry was just messin’ with my head when he said
“Welcome son to the life of the living dead.
Doesn’t matter if you win or you lose
You make it home alive and then they tighten the screw”
It’s the same damn thing again and again
And just because we drink together doesn’t mean that we’re friends
What Harry said, but Harry’s dead
Harry used to make some extra cash getting’ hit by cars
He threw himself in the road and made a quick fifty thou
He bought his wife a garden hose, he blew the rest right up his nose
We used to joke how that shit cost an arm and a leg
I thought Harry was just messin’ with my head when he said
“Welcome son to the life of the living dead.”
Doesn’t matter if you win or you lose
You make it home alive and then they tighten the screw
It’s the same damn thing again and again
And just because we drink together doesn’t mean that we’re friends
What Harry said, but Harry’s dead
What Harry said to me, but Harry’s dead, you see

DEEP DISH PIZZA
Got a woman like a Deep Dish Pizza
Little bit crusty but she’s soft inside
You know I aim to please her, gonna extra cheese her
Gonna save her all for mine
Got a woman like a Deep Dish Pizza
Come in any topping I desire
It’s my fantasy
She delivers herself to me
She’s warm and right on time
Got a woman like a Deep Dish Pizza, Deep Dish Pizza
Just enough grease to make it okay
You know I’m gonna heat her up and I’m a gonna eat her up
My Deep Dish baby
Got a woman like a Deep Dish Pizza, Deep Dish Pizza
Just enough grease to make it okay
You know I’m gonna heat her up and I’m a gonna eat her up
My Deep Dish baby
Got a woman like a Deep Dish Pizza

IN BETWEEN SCENE
You win some you lose some and other times you draw
Time in between spent sitting at the bar
Nothing on the TV the bottom of another glass
Just an In Between Scene, Just an In Between Scene
You win some you lose some and other times you stall
Time in between spent staring at the walls
Taking care of little things, the telephone that never rings
Just an In Between Scene, Just an In Between Scene
I’m just in between, what a way to be
I’m just in between, what a way to be
You wouldn’t see the other side of things
Now I’m just a cleaning my house
Doing these stupid in between things, oh
You win some, you lose some
You win some, you lose some
You win some, you lose some
I’m just in between, what a way to be
I’m just in between, what a way to be
Take another look at the same old thing

Man Gone, TV On
Throw that diaper out the door and light a cigarette
It looks like he won’t be coming home
A small plane makes such a lonesome sound
As afternoon goes crawling up the wall
A loaf of bread, I won’t be long, Honey
That method’s tried and true
Alphabits and Absolut and a world awash in blue
A pack of smokes, I won’t be long
That method’s tried and true
Alphabits and Absolut and a world awash in blue
Alphabits and Absolut and a world awash in blue

FIFTY-FIFTY
Oh love. You know, I don’t even know what that is anymore.
I used to think it was gonna be a ride in an open carriage with a good bottle of champagne and violins playing, but no, turned out to be a ride down to Stop and Pop a couple of times a week in my luxurious K-Car trying to find my baby something. I don’t know what it was. She didn’t know what it was. Quite frankly, I don’t think it even really existed. It was just some kind of strange test that she was putting me through and I failed. So naturally, I felt a little bad not being able to get my little princess everything she needed in the world so I went out to have
a couple of drinks with a few of my friends. Somehow she found me
at the bar and gave me a call and she was pretty pissed off at me and you know what I said? I said, ”Honey, I’ll take 90% of the blame and a fifth of your tequila.”
You know it’s hard to actually touch each other these days with the information superhighway. We’re faxing each other, leaving each other voice mails and emails, but all I really wanna do is be with my female. My baby’s got this little beeper that she brings home from work, and puts it on vibrate, sticks it down inside of her panties and has me call her on a very, very regular basis. But the other day, I was driving down the road and I got into an accident and my cell phone went flying out of the car and I couldn’t complete the call. So, immediately I ran over to the car next to me to see if they had a phone and lo and behold, it was Dr. Ruth and she was egging me on. I’ll take 90% of the blame and a fifth of your tequila.
You give a little, you get a little, you give a little, you get a little
You give a little, you get a little, you give a little
more and that’s all you can do is keep on giving to
that woman you say that you love. Honey I don’t waste my time fighting with you about the little things. I mean, who cares about how to fold our lovely towels. And you can take my beautiful K-Car out and smash it up any time you want, man. I don’t waste my time on the little things I just want to love you.
I’ll take 90% of the blame and a fifth of your tequila.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK
Well, she hit the room just like a bomb
You know my jaw dropped like a stone
I asked my friend, she looked so fine
“How can I take that woman home?”
He said, “She’s free. She’s out of college.”
But that didn’t tell me what I need to know
I had to learn the hard way
She’s from New York, She’s from New York
She’s from that city not by the bay
She took me out for a bite to eat
She trashed the waitress up and down
Then we ran outside, she grabbed a cab
She gave an address way up town
She said, “That’s cool. We’ll get there faster.”
But I sucked wind when he turned that cab around
That meter flew, it was disaster
Hey, but that’ New York, that’s New York
That’s that burg they bought with beads
So me and her, we took a trip
Up to a small New England town
But when we got there, she took one look
She caught the same bus right back down
She said, “All these trees, they make me nervous.”
That pretty much told me all I need to know
“My butt would freeze, can’t reach my service.”
Back in New York, Back yonder in New York
Down in that city not by the bay
New York, New York, ooh fun town
That burg they bought with beads
That’s New York
